Philosophy

The philosophical foundation of Montessori Learning Center is based on the creation of a positive atmosphere in which children below school age can learn using primarily the Montessori method of instruction, along with other modern educational methods based on psychological and cognitive theories.

 

Education should be an aid to life, therefore we follow Dr. Montessori’s idea that the goal of early childhood education should be to cultivate the child’s own natural desire to learn, in order for him or her to develop his/her physical, intellectual and emotional powers.  Recognizing that children grow in predictable stages that have as their end state the creation of the adult, we must see in them the person they must become.  Therefore, respect for a child’s personality and freedom, and trust in their inner potentiality, are a prerequisite for the foundation of our educational goal.

Pink Tower

The series of cubes develop visual discrimination of three dimensions. Exploration with this material prepares the child for mathematical concepts in the decimal system, geometry and volumes.

 


Los fundamentos filosoficos del Montessori Learning Center se basan en la creacion de una atmosfera positiva en la cual los ninos de 18 meses a 6 anos, pueden aprender usando primero el metodo Montessori, ademas de otros metodos de educacion modernos basados en teorias psicologicas y cognitivas.

 

La Educacion debe ser una ayuda a la vida, por lo que seguimos la idea de la Dra. Montessori de que la meta de la educacion inical debe ser cultivar en el nino el deseo de aprender, de manera que el (nino) pueda desarrollar sus poderes fisicos, intelectuales y emocionales.  Reconociendo que los ninos crecen en etapas predecibles hasta convertirse en adultos, debemos verlos como los adultos que llegaran a ser.  Por lo tanto, el prerequisito para nuestra meta educacional es el respeto de la personalidad y libertad de nuestros ninos.
